‘Respect’ – Man Utd fans react to Mourinho’s latest Wenger comments

The Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to comments from their manager, Jose Mourinho, as he prepares to face Arsene Wenger for the last time with the Frenchman in charge of Arsenal.

The game will be Wenger’s 31st visit to Old Trafford as Arsenal manager and promises to be a great game between two of England’s biggest club.

Arsene Wenger vs Sir Alex Ferguson was the biggest managerial rivalry in football in the early 2000’s as the two fought out some incredible matches and won trophies at the expense of each other. Now though, Mourinho wants to see the United fans show some respect to Arsene Wenger after he announced that he’d be stepping down from his job as Arsenal manager at the end of the season last week.

The legendary Frenchman has been on the end of some heavy defeats at Old Trafford In 2001, Wenger’s side got taken apart and lost 6-1 to the eventual champions whilst ten years in 2011 it got worse for the Gunners, who were clubbed 8-2. The United fans will be hoping for an equally big scoreline on Sunday, although it’s extremely unlikely to happen given the position both sides are in, with nothing to play for in the League for either side.
