Respite for suffering Everton fans as promising transfer news emerges

Everton supporters in the Transfer Tavern were again left frustrated by their side after seeing the Toffees only muster a 1-1 draw at Brighton on Sunday, leaving them just two places above the Premier League’s bottom three after eight games of the season.

Ronald Koeman’s men arrived on the South Coast having won just two of their opening seven league matches, not good news for those using there Betfair Promo Code 2018 to back the Toffees, and they looked on course to suffer a fourth league defeat of the campaign when Anthony Knockaert gave Chris Hughton’s Seagulls the lead eight minutes from time after benefiting from some sloppy play from Morgan Schneiderlin. Nonetheless, the Toffees did indeed get a point from proceedings thanks to Wayne Rooney’s last-gasp penalty, and there may be slightly more encouragement for our suffering resident Evertonians if a recent report from TEAMtalk is anything to go by.

And that’s because they report that the Merseyside outfit are one of a host of sides interested in signing Liverpool’s Danny Ings in January.

The 25-year-old has endured a torrid time at Anfield since moving there back in 2014, with injuries thwarting his progress for Jurgen Klopp’s side and ultimately restricting him to just 12 first team appearances, in which time he has bagged three goals.

However, four Premier League 2 appearances and a substitute cameo against Leicester City in the Carabao Cup this season suggests that the one-time England international is making his way back to full fitness, but with the plethora of attacking talent at Klopp’s disposal, he’s unlikely to command regular football at Anfield.

As such, Merseyside rivals Everton are reportedly interested in a loan deal for Ings when the window reopens in January, in a bid to bolster the flagging striking ranks at Goodison Park that have managed just five league goals this season.

But whether Liverpool sanction the loan move of the Englishman to their bitter rivals remains to be seen.

Landlord’s verdict: There’s no doubt that striker Danny Ings deserved his move to Liverpool, but he certainly hasn’t deserved the rotten luck he’s had since moving to Anfield.

The 25-year-old has been blighted by injuries during his three-year spell with the Reds and as such has made just 12 first team appearances, and it looks like he’s going to find it tough getting back into Jurgen Klopp’s plans despite returning from injury earlier this season.

Thus, Everton have reportedly enquired about taking him on loan in January, what with manager Ronald Koeman overseeing a testing time in front of goal at Goodison Park, but there aren’t many players who cross Stanley Park to play for the bitter rival.

And with other clubs interested in Ings, the Toffees may find it tricky convincing the Reds to help them out with their striking issues.
