I reported a while ago on the story that Ukraine star Andriy Shevchenko was to return to the home of his biggest failing in football Stamford Bridge to work as a strikers coach.
Well it seems this story has gathered pace but more notably credit after Shevchenko’s Dynamo Kiev president has been quoted stating:
“Shevchenko will do something under his good friend Roman Abramovich.”
The details of the move may have changed has it was originally reported Shevchenko would be a striker coach but now it seems he is more likely to be offered a role with the youth team as well as some scouting responsibilities in Eastern Europe.
Shevchenko announced he would be retiring from international football after Euro 2012 but it seemed his playing days weren’t over as he has reportedly been offered a lucrative deal from an unknown MLS club.
Shevchenko has previously revealed his desire to play in the MLS, partly due to his American wife Kristen Pazik and his well known love for holidaying in the US.
Shevchenko is understood to be keen on pursuing a coaching career after he retires but he must decide whether to prolong his playing career and turn down a fantastic first coaching role or cut short his playing days and take the first step to becoming a great coach.Like what the TT have on offer?
