The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are looking forward to the FA Cup final, with the Red Devils having a rich history in the competition. They’ve won it no fewer than 12 times, and Jose Mourinho will be looking to make that 13 this weekend.
It will be interesting to see who Mourinho picks to take on Chelsea on Saturday, but one player that some fans don’t want to see start the game is Marcus Rashford. We recently ran a poll on whether Mourinho should drop him, and in response, 57% of fans responded with a resounding yes. Meanwhile, 43% of fans responded saying no.
Rashford is, without a doubt, a favourite of the Old Trafford faithful, with the Englishman’s rise through the academy ranks a dream of many young Red Devils.
However, that’s what makes this result so interesting, as it seems that despite their love for him, they don’t think he would be a good fit on Saturday.
He, of course, hasn’t been a regular starter at Old Trafford this season, and he has found game time hard to come by since the arrival of Alexis Sanchez in particular.
Clearly, then, fans may well prefer to see Sanchez in action, and it will be very interesting to see if this is the direction that Mourinho decides to go. We’re sure that the Old Trafford faithful would love nothing more than for Rashford to come on and score the winner on Saturday, though.
