The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have been plotting how their side could manoeuvre past a difficult hurdle this week…
Eden Hazard, Chelsea’s star attacker, has been consistently touted with a move away this week – with Spanish publication MARCA reporting that the Blues could list to offers for the Belgian this summer.
Of course, this is a move that most in the pub are firmly against, with Hazard absolutely vital to proceedings at Stamford Bridge. Indeed, many think that the Blues would fall apart without him.
The notion that Chelsea could listen to offers, though, has got many concerned – and a few of the Blues in the pub have already started thinking about who could replace him. In a timely fashion, the Blues were linked with a move for Arsenal ace Alexis Sanchez, who reportedly earns £130,000-per-week, earlier this month – and for a few fans in the pub, the pieces fit together perfectly.
Our landlord asked the Chelsea fans whether they would like to see this deal happen, though, and it would appear as though the Chelsea faithful are not unanimous in their thinking. Rather, just 37% of fans think that Chelsea should replace Hazard with Sanchez – with a whopping 63% of fans against the move.
Time to rethink that one, then.
