The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are looking forward to their side’s clash with Bournemouth. It has been a tough month or so for the Blues, but Antonio Conte’s side seems to be on the right track. They’ve been able to secure back-to-back wins against Watford and Everton, and if they can secure another win this weekend then there will be no doubts that the Blues are back in form.
Given Chelsea’s recent poor form, though, Antonio Conte will no doubt have a tough time picking his team. He has a large selection of players from which to choose, and so it will be no easy feat. One player that will be in contention is Willian, who has been a fairly regular member of the Chelsea first team this season. He was, however, dropped against Watford, and that has left the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern wondering if he will start this weekend. He is, of course, a very divisive player, with fans often criticising him for his inconsistent performances and slow play on the ball.
However, on the back of a fine performance against Everton, it appears as though most fans are unanimous in their desire to see the Brazilian back in the side this weekend – with 65% of recently polled Chelsea fans calling for the 29-year-old to be in the starting 11. He was, of course, Chelsea’s match-winner on Wednesday, with his goal giving Chelsea a 2-0 lead before Everton managed to grab one back.
His overall play was stellar, whilst his hard work and technical skill were also on show. It was a great performance, and the fans in the pub want to see more of the same this weekend.
