The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are ready to see the back of Loris Karius. The German’s poor performance in the Champions League final was, for most, the final straw.
It’s clear that the Reds need to bring in a new goalkeeper, and it appears as though the man they want is Roma ace Alisson.
The Guardian reported last week (Tuesday, May 29th) that AS Roma would demand a whopping £79 million for the shot-stopper, and so it’s far from certain that Liverpool will look to land him.
However, fans clearly feel as though he would be worth the price.
Over the last week, we have asked Liverpool fans whether their side should pay £79 million to land him, and 68% of supporters voted in favour of such a move.
Clearly, then, Alisson is a popular man at Anfield – and it’s easy to see why. The Brazilian has been a star over in Italy over the last year, impressing with his fantastic shot-stopping, brilliant agility and strong aerial presence.
Indeed, he’s offered everything that Karius did not in the European final – and that’s proof enough that he is needed at Anfield.
Liverpool haven’t been afraid to spend so far this summer, but it remains to be seen whether they will fork out for him before the season starts.
