It has been another poor season for Arsenal, and Arsene Wenger has felt the brunt of it. He’s set to leave the Gunners after their next and final league game against Huddersfield.
Given the lack of importance being placed on the game, we recently made the case that Wenger should call on a few young players as a parting gift to his next manager.
In particular, Joe Willock is a player that is deserving of a shot. He’s a talented central midfielder that looks good enough to feature at the highest level.
It seems that most Arsenal fans would like to see him in action, at least judging from a recent poll.
We asked fans whether the Englishman should feature for the Gunners against Huddersfield, and the results, which can be seen below, have revealed that 75% of supporters would like that to be the case.
Clearly, then, Willock is a popular man amongst fans, and that’s no real surprise. He’s got bags of talent, and given that the game means very little in the context of the season, it makes sense to give a few players a rare shot at making an impact.
A rebuild is on the cards at the Emirates this summer, and anyone that plays well on Sunday will surely be in with a chance of making the cut.
