The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are eager for their side to pick up a win on Tuesday. The Reds saw their poor form turn around on Tuesday, with Jurgen Klopp’s men dispatching Maribor with a comfortable 7-0 victory. It was a sensational performance from the club, and more is expected on Sunday.
It won’t be easy for the club, though, with Tottenham also impressing in the week. They held European giants Real Madrid to a 1-1 draw in Spain, leaving the Spurs fans in the Transfer Tavern on cloud 9.
In the lead-up to the game, the Liverpool fans in the pub have been thinking about team selection, and with James Milner looking so good for his club in the week, his chances of starting on Sunday have been debated. This is something that most Liverpool fans would be keen to see, at least according to a recent survey run by our landlord.
According to the Liverpool fans polled, a whopping 78% are in favour of seeing Milner start on Sunday – with just 22% voting to the contrary. To be more specific, 78% fans would like to see him replace Gini Wijnaldum, who has struggled over the last few weeks.
It would be a fairly like-for-like swap, and if Milner can perform half as well as he did against Maribor, then the Reds in the pub are in for a treat. His leadership will be key too.
