Arsenal fans here in the Tavern are looking to improve on things in the upcoming January transfer window, resulting in the departure of some of the fringe players in the squad. Arsenal have been a mixed bag so far this season, due to a lack of consistency constantly bothering Arsene Wenger and his men, despite some good performances.
There was a mutual understanding between fans here in the pub when forward Theo Walcott was linked in the Daily Mail with a move away to Goodison Park, after new manager Sam Allardyce enquired about the potential transfer of the out-of-favour 28-year-old.
Indeed, after becoming surplus to requirements in recent times there was no shock when fans here in the pub were happy to see their forward linked with a move away. Our Landlord here in the Tavern decided to throw up a poll to see exactly what supporters opinions were on the topic, which saw a mind-blowing 92% of fans vote in favour of his departure.
The massive difference in opinion came as a slight surprise. After scoring important goals both domestically and on the European stage for the club, you’d think that they’d be more welcoming to housing the forward, but due to his lack of game-time and the rise in-form of some of the Gunners youth prospects, it’s meant that he’s no longer got a place in the squad.
Therefore, with no evident in-roads into the starting 11, it looks as if Arsenal fans want to rid of his services come January.
Gunners fans, thoughts?
