Tomas Campos from Spanish daily MARCA paid a visit to The Transfer Tavern during last orders on Thursday night with some news hot off the Spanish press about Real Madrid target Franck Ribery who has been linked with a shock move to Liverpool.
Bookmakers Sky Bet slashed their odds yesterday evening on the midfielder moving to Anfield. Odds dropped from 66/1 to 8/13 and suspended all bets on the transfer shortly after. Rival bookies William Hill and Paddy Power also refused to accept any bets which has intensified speculation that the French international, will be joining the Reds’ midfield.
The 26-year-old has also previously been linked with a move to Manchester United but if the latest speculation surrounding Ribery is true, it could see Xabi Alonso trading Merseyside for Madrid. Reds’ manager Rafael Benitez is expected to sacrifice either the Spain international or Argentine midfield general
Javier Mascherano who has been strongly linked with a move to Barcelona.
So what sort of liquid refreshment has found its way into the fridge at the MARCA offices? Is Ribery really set for a sensational switch from the Allianz Arena to Anfield? Should this rumour Fly or Die?
