Manchester City has been spending loads of money this season, probably the highest by any Premier League club. They are trying to establish themselves as a potent force, both home and away, by getting some of the big names of football. Their seasons transfer included, Tevez, Adebayor, Lescott and few more.
However, they have not performed as expected by their fans and are already being rated as the under performers of the league, by various critics. In a recent report, Rio Ferdinand, the centre-back for Manchester United, has also remarked about City’s hopes.
Ferdinand, who has been ruled out of play due to an injury, made it clear that Manchester being a small place had room for only one big club, referring to United. He said that City did not have what it takes to win the big trophies and money certainly does not get immediate success.
In his reference to Chelsea, he mentioned that even though the club spent quite a lot, it took them some time to win the league. As for Manchester City, it would take quite some time considering the position they are in, at this moment.
The centre-back wished luck to the rivals, hoping that they would succeed in delivering their fans, what they have been expecting for long. Yet, in his heart he still believes that the emerging champion would once again be Manchester United.
