After a summer where they brought in a host of quality players, naturally, Everton have become a team many have taken an interest in, including Brazil legend Rivaldo.
And, unsurprisingly, the World Cup winner has been quick to praise compatriot Richarlison, who was Everton’s first signing of the transfer window.
“Nowadays it’s hard to know if a player really deserves the money spent on him, because transfer values are high,” Rivaldo told the British media when asked about Richarlison (via Daily Mail).
“He’s producing solid performances in the Premier League and is clearly a good player, with great potential that could be really important for Brazil soon.”
After an impressive start to the season after much scrutiny surrounding his transfer fee, Richarlison has managed to earn his first call up to the Brazil senior team team while gaining recognition from one if its national icons.
However, Richarlison is unlikely to be the only Everton player to be making much noise both now and in the future.
In fact, Everton as a whole, in a season or two, could gain the attention of multiple parties including the Premier League’s top six.
Shareholder Farhad Moshiri has made it his intention to help steer Everton into the Champions League with his financial backing.
And, if players such as Richarlison continue to be brought in and produce the form the Brazilian has shown so far at Goodison Park on a regular basis, then the potential is there for Moshiri’s dreams to be realised.
