Today’s transfer rumours include young Slovenian striker Robert Beric, 21. According to ESPN, Beric is looking for a switch to the English Premier League from Slovenian side NK Maribor. His contract is running down and reports suggest he is not interested in renewing, preferring a transfer, and a new challenge.
Aston Villa are interested in a purchase, as Darren Bent appears to have fallen down the pecking order under Paul Lambert. Beric could make a switch in the January transfer window, with Norwich also apparently interested. Both Villa and Norwich are struggling so far this season and really must use the January window as an opportunity to find some inspiration.
As a young talent, Beric is hot property around Europe. Italian sides Napoli and Sapdoria are also looking to snap up the centre forward.
Tottenham’s game against Maribor in the Europa League, gave Beric the chance to prove his worth against top Premier League opposition. After scoring against them in their last meeting, Beric will be looking to improve his stock on a big stage. He has 4 domestic goals to his name this season. While this isn’t an earth shattering result, the amount of interest in Beric proves he is hot property.
Could he light up the Premier League and save the season for either Aston Villa or Norwich? Keep your eyes out for Robert Beric.
