It's not uncommon for players to go through bad spells in their career, even the best of the best suffer goal droughts and struggle for form, but this season has been a little bit more than that, As Roberto Firmino has been woeful. Last night he again disappointed, as he played 79 minutes before Jurgen Klopp spared him his blushes.

Last season saw the Brazilian frontman shine almost as brightly as his teeth. The 27-year-old is in a position where he really needs to find some form. His goalscoring has never been the best part of his game but boy could do with some goals now. His all-round game has been nothing short of abysmal and plenty of the Reds have been getting onto his back for a while now, with his Napoli performance just the latest in a string of poor displays.

You would forgive Jurgen Klopp entirely if he opted to drop the striker for this weekend's massive game against Manchester United at Anfield. More than just three points will be on the line when the two meet on Sunday and the fans would much rather have an in-form Daniel Sturridge or Divock Origi than the Firmino that they've had to watch as of late, and who can blame them as the Brazilian has just three goals to his name in 14 games since the end of September.

You can forgive the Kopites for being annoyed at Firmino's form and they'll be desperate for him to gain some confidence and improve sooner or later.
