Liverpool continued their fine start to the Premier League campaign yesterday as they secured all three points against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley.
The Reds are in a good position to really kick on and challenge for the Premier League title under Jurgen Klopp, with supporters finally starting to believe. And, to make things better, one of Liverpool’s star men provided a positive injury update, as according to Roberto Firmino’s personal Instagram account, he is okay and it was just a scare.
Roberto Firmino has avoided any “lasting damage” after suffering an eye injury against Spurs.
Indeed, the Brazilian was discharged from a London hospital this afternoon, with a hospital examination confirming an abrasion of the eye, but there will be no lasting damage.
The issue will be monitored and treated by Liverpool’s medical staff at Melwood before any decision is made on whether Firmino will be able to figure in Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain at Anfield.
The Brazilian has been sensational so far this season so it would have been a huge blow for Liverpool to lose him for a long period of time.
Indeed, the Reds will be desperate to go one better in the Champions League this season, but they may have to go on without the forward against the French champions.
Nevertheless, it’s definitely positive news for Liverpool and they’ll already be looking forward to welcoming him back into the team.
