Leicester City fans will have high hopes with Brendan Rodgers in charge at the King Power Stadium, as it’s safe to say that his time at Celtic has enhanced his managerial profile massively.
Interestingly, it appears as if the Northern Irishman eyeing a raid on his former club Celtic, as according to The Telegraph, Brendan Rodgers is targeting a summer reunion with Lee Congerton.
What’s the News?
Lee Congerton is Celtic’s current head of recruitment, and he’s in line to join Rodgers ahead of next season. The 45-year-old would replace Eduardo Macia, whose contract at the King Power Stadium expires this summer.
Rodgers is ready to offer the Welshman a return to the Premier League but Leicester will have to pay compensation.
Brendan Rodgers’ relationship with Lee Congerton is clearly something that’s driving him towards bringing him to the King Power Stadium in the summer. It’s safe to say that it makes sense as they enjoyed a successful time of things together at Celtic, with Macia’s expected departure potentially leaving a void.
Indeed, the former Celtic boss has already brought the likes of Chris Davies, Kolo Toure and Glen Driscoll with him since taking charge at the King Power Stadium, and adding Congerton to the list would complete the makeover.
Of course, fans have plenty of reasons to be excited about the club’s future under Rodgers as he’s shown that he can secure silverware over the years at Parkhead, but Rodgers will have to pull off something special to eclipse the magic that Claudio Ranieri produced during his time at at the club.
