Rodgers to reinvest full Suarez transfer fee

LiverpooLiverpool v West Bromwich Albion - Barclays Premier Leaguel supporters in the Football Transfer Tavern need cheering up after the sale of Luis Suarez to Barcelona was confirmed, and sources at the Times have some positive news at least.

The publication reckons Brendan Rodgers will be given the full £75million transfer fee to reinvest in his squad this summer, with deals for Benfica winger Lazar Markovic and Swansea striker Wilfried Bony understood to be close.

Rodgers has been busy this summer already, adding Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana from Southampton, and young German midfielder Emre Can from Bayern Leverkusen.

The Reds boss has a desire to strengthen the squad as a whole following the departure of Suarez, and vowed to ensure the club keeps progressing following the Uruguayan’s sale.
