Rolando Aarons looking increasingly likely to stay

One player Newcastle United have been trying to shift this summer could be about to spend the winter with the reserve team.

According to a report by the Newcastle Chronicle, Rolando Aarons looks set to remain at St. James’ Park after a move to a Bulgarian side failed to materialise.

The 22-year-old can not make an appearance for the Magpies in the Premier League, as he was omitted from Rafa Benitez’s squad list, as it was believed he would be playing his football elsewhere temporarily.

It is thought the only game time the winger will get in the black-and-white stripes of the Toon Army is in the Under-23 team.

And, with the transfer window still open in a select few countries in Europe, it appears Aarons will unlikely get the move that he desperately needs to kick-start his career.

The Verdict:

The failure to get a move away from St. James’ Park will hurt Aarons immensely, as he will have to continue to play his football in the developmental league.

The £630k-rated winger, as per Transfermarkt, will not have the ability to feature for Benitez’s side in the top-flight, whilst Newcastle were also knocked out of the League Cup in the second round against Nottingham Forest.

Things will look bleak for the 22-year-old, however, he will need to work hard and either hope he can get a move in January, or in the coming days in a market that is still open.
