Fulham haven’t been able to find their feet in the Premier League this season, with relegation being a possibility at this early stage.
The Cottagers will be desperate to climb up the table in the near future after spending a huge amount of money during the summer transfer window. Although, it appears as if they’ve suffered a setback in their pursuit of a reported target, as according to Corrierre della Sera (via Inside Futbol), Roma are eyeing a move for Maxwel Cornet.
Interestingly, it was reported that Fulham are looking at making an £18 million swoop for the Ivory Coast international in January.
The lack of regular game time has frustrated the winger and there are suggestions that he could consider an offer to leave the Ligue 1 giants during the January transfer window.
But, it’s now thought that Italian side AS Roma are keeping a close eye on the forward and are considering making a move in January.
Maxwel Cornet is an exciting forward that has the potential to succeed in the Premier League, but Fulham stand no chance of competing against a side like AS Roma, with European football guaranteed.
The Ivory Coast international would be a great addition alongside Aleksandr Mitrovic, but the London club need to focus more on grinding out positive results at this moment in time.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
