Roma goalkeeper will not return to Arsenal to play second fiddle

Arsenal v Fulham - Barclays Premier LeagueArsenal reserve goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has told the London Evening Standard that he will stay on loan with Roma next season, if he cannot play regular football with the Gunners.

The 25-year-old has featured frequently for the Serie A side this season and after falling down the pecking order behind Petr Cech and David Ospina, he has no intention of returning and not playing football again.

The Polish keeper says that football will always come first in his mind, stating that he has the confidence of everyone at Roma.

One Arsenal fan here in the Transfer Tavern is preparing for the Saturday night karaoke to get started and he doesn’t believe the keeper will have any sort of future at the Emirates following these comments.

Our knowledgeable landlord is preparing the shot bar ready for a busy night and he believes these comments are a bit insulting, stating that Arsene Wenger gave him ample chances to shine at the Gunners – none of which he grasped.

Arsenal fans, what do you make to these comments? Would you give Szczesny another chance to shine?
