AS Roma have joined the race to sign the supremely talented yet troubled youngster Ravel Morrison. Luis Enrique is understood to be keen to bring the 18 year old Manchester United winger to the Stadio Olimpico according to Talksport.
This comes after an offer from Newcastle was rebuffed earlier this week. According to Talksport, the Magpies are believed to have offered around £500,000 for Morrison, however this was swiftly rejected by Sir Alex Ferguson.
Morrison has been in the spotlight many times during his short career at Manchester United, including his arrest for harassment. It seemed that Sir Alex Ferguson was willing to put up with his antics, however his latest contract demands are seen as a step too far and Ferguson could let him leave.
Ferguson has described Morrison’s demands as ‘unrealistic’ reports The Mirror, and it looks like his United career is coming to an end. Ferguson is understood to favour the idea of Morrison moving overseas rather than to a Premier League rival.
Morrison’s pace and trickery would be welcomed in Serie A, and there is every chance that he’ll be joining Luis Enrique’s Roman revolution before January is over.
