Liverpool fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have mixed feelings about their clubs’ transfer business thus far.
Brendan Rodgers has been busy so far this summer, with the signings of Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana and Emre Can, whilst Benfica winger Lazar Markovic is set to follow shortly.
But with Luis Suarez set to leave for Barcelona shortly, there is a desire to see established world class talents arrive in his place.
The Reds look to have already missed out on Alexis Sanchez, with the Chilean superstar set to sign for Arsenal.
And the Daily Star reckons the Reds could miss out on another top target, with Roma set to hijack the Reds’ move for Bayern Munich midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri.
Reports in Italy claim Roma are ready to spend £15 million on the attacker, who shone for Switzerland at the World Cup – netting a superb hat-trick in the group stage victory over Honduras.
The 22-year-old is keen to leave Bayern Munich this summer having fallen down the pecking order at the Allianz Arena and has been heavily linked with a switch to Anfield.
Roma have already beaten the Reds to one signing this summer, as Brendan Rodgers tried to sign Ashley Cole at the 11th hour on a free transfer, only for the former England international to reveal he had already made the choice to move to the Italian capital.
