Roman to offer deal: Pair still can’t agree on this key thing for Chelsea

The Chelsea fans who’ve based themselves in the Transfer Tavern ahead of tonight’s clash with West Bromwich Albion know they are just a win away from the Premier League title.

Still, as much as the champagne is on ice for what could be a wonderful night at the Hawthorns this evening, there’s a sense of trepidation amongst the Blues in the bar.

That’s because Antonio Conte’s links with a potential move to Inter Milan refuse to go away. Despite a wonderful campaign in west London, the 47-year-old has constantly been touted for a move to the San Siro.

So, reports from the Daily Mail have certainly shed some light on the matter. They claim that, while the Nerazurri are reportedly preparing a contract offer, Stamford Bridge owner Roman Abramovich is set to offer the 47-year-old a new deal.

Indeed, Conte is believed to be excited about the notion of challenging in the Champions League and is said to be demanding more control over transfers both in and out of the club.

For his part, Abramovich is understood to be unwilling to grant that right now, with Inter thought to be ready to appoint some of Conte’s most trusted staff over the years in an attempt to take him to Italy.
