If there is one player that every football fan should have in their fantasy football team this season then it is surely Everton’s Marouane Fellaini.
The big Belgian has been largely unplayable so far this season, scoring six goals in the process and attracting plenty of interest from the Toffees Premier League rivals. So it may not come as much of a surprise that Fellaini has been linked with a £30million move to Stamford Bridge in January as Chelsea hope he can fire them towards winning back the Premier League title (link).
However, is the biggest barnet in the Premier League really worth £30million or is this in fact just the right price for a player that could really make the difference when it comes down to the nittygritty of the title race?
Well, there is no question that Fellaini would be a fantastic addition to Chelsea’s squad and would certainly give another dimension to Di Matteo’s attack and midfield.
Fellaini’s height and presence at both ends of the field is something that Chelsea have lacked since the departure of Drogba in the summer.
As well as the Belgians obvious goal threat, Fellaini could also fit easily into Chelsea’s new style of play under Roberto Di Matteo as he is very comfortable with the ball at his feet and also in the air.
If the Blues were able to sign Fellaini it would definitely give them a big boost in attempting to retain their Champions League crown and win back the Premier League title.
However this transfer possibility is bound to come down to whether Everton are willing to let Fellaini go for just £30million.
The rumoured price tag seems like a fair total for one of the best players in the Premier League at the moment but Everton could even perhaps hold out for even more than that.
But as it stands, £30million seems a bit of a bargain for a player that will almost guarantee goals and is practically unplayable when he is on form. Mr Abramovich should be writing the cheque as soon as possible if he wants to see Chelsea at the top of the league in May.
