Rondon and Gayle agreement looks to work for a lot of Newcastle fans

It’s been widely reported that Salomon Rondon is a Newcastle target this summer. The Venezuelan striker bagged eight times for the Baggies last season as they suffered relegation and it’s believed he can do much better with improved service at St James Park. According to journalist Andrew Ryan on Twitter, Rondon could be joining The Magpies for £3 million plus Dwight Gayle.

This is one move that makes sense for all involved. Dwight Gayle falls into the bracket of those with Cameron Jerome syndrome, too good for the Championship but struggling in the Premier League, whilst Rondon has the ability to thrive in the top flight with adequate service, something that simply wasn’t provided for him at the Hawthorns. The upcoming season will be an interesting one for both West Brom and Newcastle with their new frontmen.

If Rondon can better his tally of eight goals for West Brom in a different striped shirt this season then the fans will be delighted. Joselu, Rondon and other soon-to-be new signing, Yoshinori Muto, will be well received at the club and if they can help to improve the club’s return of just 38 goals from last season then they’ll be well placed to try and better their 10th placed finish from the previous campaign.

Just from this, you can see that the fans are all pleased with the impending deal as Rondon offers something that Gayle simply doesn’t.
