Manchester United boss is set to turn the Red Devils squad on its head by showing a number of its stars the door in an attempt to rebuild a squad that will secure the title returns to Old Trafford in the near future.
The 68 year old had planned to take this drastic step before hearing about striker Wayne Rooney’s wishes to leave the club, and the England internationals comments have only helped to confirm to Ferguson that changes must be made to bring players to the club who have passion to wear the United shirt rather than the high wages any move could command.
In total the United boss is looking to get rid of 10 player from the squad with Rooney, Owen Hargreaves, Michael Carrick, Wes Brown, Gary Neville and Tomasz Kuszczak just a few names on the list to get the boot. Should Ferguson’s plans prove successful, while a large amount of money is still yet to be paid as part of the outstanding debts which the club has, the sale of a number of players could help generate substantial income which could enable North West club to make some considerable moves in the transfer market.
Everton’s Jack Rodwell and Sunderland duo Jordan Henderson and Darren Bent are believed to be high on the wish list at Old Trafford, along with a potential move for Liverpool’s out of form star Fernando Torres, as Ferguson looks to create a hungry squad that are ready to take the Premier League by force.
