The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern want Danny Rose to leave the club in January. The Englishman, though impressive this term, has clearly fallen out of favour with Mauricio Pochettino, and he seems to be causing more harm than good at present.
Of course, the Englishman quickly went from hero to villain over the summer after a revealing interview with the Sun in which he indicated his openness to leaving the club in the future, and he’s struggled to recover ever since.
With January approaching, Rose could be entering the final few weeks of his time in North London, but the prospect of that doesn’t seem to be worrying the Spurs faithful. To the contrary, many are already discussing who they want to replace him, and it appears as though a fellow Englishman is on the list of many fans.
According to a recent poll ran by our landlord, a whopping 65% of Tottenham fans want Man Utd outcast Luke Shaw to come and replace Rose, with the 22-year-old clearly still very highly-rated amongst fans.
Shaw has, of course, had a tough time of it at Man Utd under Jose Mourinho, with injury and a lack of manager faith really halting his development. Prior to that, however, he was one of the Premier League’s best young players, and he’s clearly still got that talent. Mauricio Pochettino has been able to get the best out of countless other players at Tottenham, and there appears to be a sense amongst fans that he’ll be able to have a big effect on Shaw.
