For once, a lower league hopeful has chosen Liverpool rather than one of the Premiership’s bigger clubs. Yusuf Mersin, a 16 year-old goalkeeper at Millwall has been signed by Liverpool, after being scouted by Chelsea and Arsenal.
Signed for an undisclosed fee, and having represented Turkey at under-17 level, Mersin looks hot property, so is this a transfer coup for the current Liverpool hierarchy?
Hodgson’s days may be numbered but he still seems determined to build for the future. Good on you Roy, your optimism is admirable.
