Roy Hodgson prepared to let trio leave Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace could see three players leave the club before the end of the summer as Roy Hodgson looks to trim his squad.

According to a report in the London Evening Standard, the Eagles are planning to loan out Jason Puncheon, Pape Souare and Jonny Williams.

It is believed the Selhurst Park outfit are open to letting the trio leave south London on a temporary basis as they all look to get some football under their belts as they all have returned from lengthy injuries.

Puncheon was the club’s captain before his serious knee injury meant he would spend eight months on the sidelines and he has since struggled to break back into the first-team.

Souare is another that has struggled to get back into the senior side under Hodgson after he suffered a broken leg in a car accident back in September 2016, having made just five appearances since.

Williams has not featured for Palace since January 2016 after he has been hit with a number of problems during his career and spent last season on loan at Sunderland.

The Verdict:

All three would be best suited for moves away from Crystal Palace this summer if they are to look for regular first-team football.

Puncheon would be considered a surprise name on the list, although with Luka Milivojevic appearing to take over the captain’s armband and the arrivals of Max Meyer and Cheikhou Kouyate, it would be difficult for him to get back into the scene at Selhurst Park.

Souare and Williams would be best suited to trying to get a loan move that would have a permanent option available to them, as they do not appear to be a part of Hodgson’s plans moving forward.
