Barcelona ‘B’ striker Nolito is being chased by Liverpool amongst others, as the 24-year olds goals have fired Barcelona’s second string back into the Spanish second tier for the first time in 11 years. As well as that, it has taken them up to 6th in the Segunda Division in their first season back as well.
He has even broken into the Barcelona first team, making one La Liga appearance off the bench and two in the Spanish Cup, including scoring against AD Ceuta.
With the former Ecija player out of contract in the summer and little chance of breaking into the starting XI with the likes of David Villa, Lionel Messi and Pedro ahead of him, his signature is ready to be chased by several major clubs elsewhere in Europe when he becomes free to talk to clubs in January.
Various sources state that Liverpool are one of at least six clubs chasing the player, whose full name is Manuel Agudo Duran, with the others being Fiorentina, Monaco, Spartak Moscow, Panathinaikos and current favourites, Benfica.
The reason Benfica are favourites is due to the Spaniard’s wish to stay in the Iberian Peninsula. However, money talks and a place in the Premier League might be too much for Nolito to turn down.
