The summer transfer window is coming to a close and most managers will be on the lookout for the last minute deal to add some quality to their squad.

Although Arsenal's transfer business might seemingly be over, according to TeamTalk via Don Balon, the Gunners have apparently made a £35.6 million bid for Real Madrid winger, Lucas Vazquez.

While Unai Emery has been heavily investing in the defence, midfield and goal, up front the Spaniard hasn't added anyone.

The club has been heavily linked with Barcelona winger, Ousmane Dembele in recent weeks but any deal for the Frenchman seems quite unlikely at this point in the season.

With that in mind, a move for the 27-year-old Real Madrid academy graduate might seem plausible at this point.

The Breakdown

Although Arsenal have Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Alex Iwobi on the right wing, Lucas Vazquez would add some great competition for the squad. Neither of Arsenal's current two wingers possesses express pace - an essential quality for a winger nowadays.

What Vazquez would offer is an intelligent player who's direct, quick and can take a team up the pitch.

While his goalscoring record isn't outstanding, the Spaniard has never been given the opportunity to be a consistent starter at Real Madrid.

Moreover, Vazquez is within his peak years and could contribute massively to the Gunners and wouldn't need long to bed in.

At this stage, a deal looks unlikely but if the rumoured £35.6 million fee is true, Arsenal may have got a bargain on their hands.
