Salomon Rondon makes a timely return to training

Newcastle United will head to Southampton at the weekend looking for their first win of the Premier League season.

The Magpies were beaten by Brighton and Hove Albion last Saturday, leaving Rafa Benitez’s side rock-bottom of the division with just two points to their name.

The pressure is continuing to mount of the St. James’ Park outfit to start picking up results and their match against the Saints could be the ideal opportunity, as Mark Hughes’ side are also struggling.

And, Newcastle may have given their fans a huge boost ahead of the game as one man has been pictured back in training.

The club have posted a photo on Instagram showing Salomon Rondon back in training and working hard following a month out on the sidelines.

The Venezuela international has been unavailable since their goalless draw with Crystal Palace back in September but appears to be on the verge of making a return.

The Verdict:

Newcastle are in desperate need of a boost this season and Rondon’s return could be exactly what the club need to start turning things around.

The West Bromwich Albion loanee has not exactly got going yet on Tyneside, however, he has enough experience and quality to help turn the Magpies into an attacking threat going forward.

It remains to be seen if he will feature for the club against Southampton at the weekend, however, his return will be a welcomed one by the fans.
