West Bromwich Albion will have their sights set on securing promotion to the Premier League at the first time of asking, with the January transfer window helping their cause.
The Baggies have been rather impressive this season as Darren Moore continues to get the best out of his troops. But, a play-off spot wouldn’t satisfy the West Brom boss in the slightest, with arguably one of the strongest squads in the Championship at his disposal.
However, it appears as if one of the club’s current loanees is eyeing a permanent move away, as according to the Mirror, Salomon Rondon wants a permanent move to Newcastle United.
The Venezuelan striker hopes goals will convert his loan move from West Brom into a permanent deal.
Interestingly, the Midlands club decided to send Rondon to St James’ Park back in the summer, with Dwight Gayle making his way to the Hawthorns.
Indeed, the South American has been able to provide a number of goals at the pinnacle of the attack for the Magpies this season and is enjoying his football, and he had this to say about his future:
“Permanent deal? Yes, of course. It now depends on my work. I just do my best.”
Salomon Rondon was one of the standout performers for the Baggies last season, so they’ll be sad to see him go at some point in the future, with the Magpies inevitably making his move permanent.
Dwight Gayle has been impressive since making the move to the Midlands but he hasn’t necessarily been able to ensure consistency at all times, with the likes of Jay Rodriguez and Hal Robson-Kanu currently ahead of him in the pecking order under Darren Moore.
So, it’s safe to say Newcastle definitely got the better end of the deal.
