Sam Byram could return to West Ham with latest injury

West Ham United just cannot appear to catch a break this season, as they have been hit with another setback this summer.

According to ExWHUemployee, who is an insider for all things the Hammers, Sam Byram is expected to miss a large part of the campaign after he picked up an injury playing for Nottingham Forest.

The defender was sent out to the Championship outfit to get regular match time, however, the 24-year-old is now facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines, something that has become all too regular for him.

Speaking to The West Ham Way podcast, ExWHUemployee stated: “Bad news for Sam Byram, Sam Byram has sustained a serious injury while on loan at Nottingham Forest which seems to be a regular pattern in his career now.

“So I think he is unlikely to certainly feature much for the next few months maybe going onto next year and they’ll have to take it from there.

“If that’s the case, he’ll come back to West Ham and rehabilitate there.”

The Verdict:

Although he would not have been involved with the first-team this season, it would be a blow to West Ham.

The Hammers would have been hoping £3.6m-rated defender, as per Transfermarkt, would have been able to get some regular playing time under his belt and would have been past his injury concerns.

The right-back definitely has talent and looked promising in the early stages of his loan move to the City Ground, however, it appears that he could be spending even more time on the injury table at the London Stadium.
