West Ham have begun to look up rather than at the foot of the table after finally claiming their first points of the Premier League season.
Manuel Pellegrini has continued to use his attacking system and finally, the Hammers seem to be getting the hang of it, after beating Everton and drawing with Chelsea. However, the hard work is far from over as they have plenty more games to think about and analyse how they will keep their points ticking over.
In midfield, West Ham have had problems for many years and that has remained the case this season, despite rumours now suggesting the club have realised that and will rectify the situation in January.
If they’re to recruit a top quality midfielder, they can’t look any further than signing Marseille’s Morgan Sanson.
Sanson, (who is valued at £16.2 million on Transfermarkt) a 24-year-old Frenchman, is a midfielder with undeniable quality that would make him an outstanding buy for West Ham.
Playable in any midfield role, whether it be a defensive one or given attacking licence, Sanson will guarantee an influence on the game, like he expertly did for Marseille for the majority of last season.
The 24-year-old scored 12 goals in all competitions and even managed three assists when laying on team-mates to finish instead. West Ham are lacking creativity and work ethic in midfield but with the addition of Morgan Sanson, those attributes will be improved upon.
Sanson is no stranger to speculation about a move elsewhere so West Ham will have to be reasonable and conjure up a deal he cannot refuse as he is simply the midfielder they must sign should they wish for a relatively successful campaign.
