Santa Cruz and Royston Drenthe Both Confirmed As Targets

Roque Santa Cruz is expected to leave Machester City in a move which will see the striker re-unite with former boss Mark Hughes at Fulham.

His career never really got started in the Eastlands as the Paraguayan was plagued with injury and had the misfortune of joining City amidst the signings of Carlos Tevez, Craig Bellamy and  Emmanuel Adebayor, with Robinho also in the ranks.

Scoring 23 in 57 for Rovers, Santa Cruz followed manager Mark Hughes to Manchester City in 2009 for a deal worth £17.5million.

Italian website claimed Santa Cruz was on his way to Lazio for a loan move worth 2.2million Euros, with an option to buy at the end of the season. Expected to arrive in Italy for a medical this morning, the website assume that Santa Cruz’s proposed move to Lazio has been hijacked.

Other transfer news involving the Cottagers circulates around Hughes’ attempts to snap up Royston Drenthe from Real Madrid, who has been told that he doesn’t feature in Jose Mourinho’s plans. The versatile left sided player can play in defence or on the wing.

The 23-year-old has made 60 appearances for Madrid, scoring 3 goals, but was left out of their goalless draw to Real Mallorca at the weekend.
