Saturday’s Big 7 Premiership Predictor

Prediction: 2-2

Liverpool host Arsenal on Saturday with both teams on a high after Carling Cup and North London derby victories at the weekend

Martin Skretl and Dirk Kuyt were the goal scorers for Liverpool, with Kuyt in particular having a huge influence coming off the bench

Liverpool’s last Barclays Premier League match, defeat at Old Trafford to Manchester United, seems a long way away. Although Liverpool will be pleased to see Suarez back in league action having scored for Liverpool in that game.

Suarez’s goal was just his sixth of the season, despite having had 78 shots at goal with 54% on target

Charlie Adam has covered the most distance for Liverpool this season, but just misses out on the top 20 for individual players with 142.3 miles covered
Stewart Downing is still searching for his first Barclays Premier League goal and assist for Liverpool, despite having had 46 shots at goal and delivering 72 crosses

Arsenal’s rollercoaster season hit a high last week, coming back from 2-0 down to beat bitter rivals Spurs 5-2

Goals from Robin van Persie, Thomas Rosicky, Bacary Sagna and two from the divisive Theo Walcott secured a famous win for Arsenal

Van Persie’s goal was his 23rd of the season, coming from 110 shots at goal with 61% on target. That makes him both the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index’s top scorer and most prolific shooter.

Theo Walcott’s goals were his fourth and fifth of the season in the Premier League, and elevate him into the top twenty players in the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index. Walcott’s goals come from 55 shots at goal with 61% on target.

Walcott has also covered 128.9 miles this season, behind only van Persie, Ramsey, and Arteta in the Arsenal rankings.

Van Persie remains in the top five for overall distance travelled this season with 154.2 miles, while midfielders Aaron Ramsey and Mikel Arteta are also in the top 20 with 148.5 miles and 146 miles respectively

Arteta also covered the most distance in the game with 6.85 miles covered against Spurs, just ahead of goalscorer Bacary Sagna with 5.92 miles

 Blackburn v Aston Villa Sat 3 Mar 15:00

Prediction: 2-0 

Blackburn will be hoping to bounce back against Aston Villa this weekend after suffering to the impressive display by Man City in Manchester last weekend.

Steven Nzonzi and Mauro Formica have pulled on the Blackburn shirt more times than anyone else this season, with 24 appearances. But not a single Blackburn player has featured in every game this season.

Nzonzi is the only players to feature in the EA SPORTS Player Performance index for Individual distance covered this season with a total of 149.3 miles

Morten Gamst Pedersen has been one of Blackburn’s strongest midfielders this season. According to the EA SPORTS Player Performance index Pederson has won 62% of the tackles he’s attempted this season.

Ayegbeni Yakubu has scored 13 goals this season with only 26 shots on target, giving him a strike rate of 50%.

Aston Villa’s Stiliyan Petrov has been the work horse this season, he clocked up 148.9 miles so far this season, more miles than any other Villa player.

Stiliyan Petrov has features 24 times this season for Villa and on average he’s 6.20 miles per game.

The EA SPORTS Player Performance index states Aston Villa have covered 1,695 miles in total this season. This puts them seventh for overall distance covered so far this season.

The EA SPORTS Player Performance Index show, Alan Hutton has won 69% of all attempted tackles this season. Of the 71 attempted he’s won 49 and only lost 22.

 Man City v Bolton  Sat 3 Mar 15:00

Prediction: 5-1 

Man City haven’t lost at home in their previous 17 home fixtures, after their 3-0 win at Blackburn Bolton are going to have to put in a strong performance against the current table toppers.

Vincent Kompany has won 39 of his 42 tackles so far this season, which according to the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index means Kompany has a success rate of 92%.

Sergio Aguero has scored 16 goals this season, which puts him third behind Rooney and Robin Van Persie.

Sergio Aguero’s 16 goals have come from 45 shots on goal, which is a success rate of 54%. The best in the Man City team.

Last weekend Aleksandar Kolarov, completed the third most passes in the opposition half this season. He’s completed 67 passes.

Yaya Toure completed tops the EA SPORTS Player Performance index for the most passes completed in the opposition half against Norwich in December, where he completed 82 passes and also bagged himself a goal.

The EA SPORTS Player Performance index stats Zat Knight has made the most mos interceptions for Bolton this season. The defender has made 98 interceptions this season more than any other Bolton player.

Ivan Klasnic has been Bolton’s on target striker so far this season with 23 shots on target, which he’s converted into seven goals. The EA SPORTS Player Performance index shows Klasnic has a conversion rate of 30%.

 QPR v Everton   Sat 3 Mar 15:00

Prediction: 1-2

QPR suffered defeat at the hands of West London rivals Fulham in their last Barclays Premier League game, earning a fifth red card of the season in the process for a QPR player and a nightmare debut for Samba Diakite

Joey Barton once again covered the most ground for QPR in that game with 5.99 miles, the 14th time the outspoken midfielder has covered the most ground for his team this season

Barton has won 59 tackles this season, the third highest for a midfielder in the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index

QPR have now picked up just four points from their six games under Hughes, although they have not been defeated by more than one goal since playing Manchester United in mid December

Everton have been out of action from the Barclays Premier League for two weeks, but will desperately want to recapture the good form that saw them beat Chelsea 2-0 in their last fixture

Returning midfielder Stephen Pienaar was the hero with the first goal before Denis Stacqualursi netted the second at Goodison

Pienaar covered 4.29 miles in his 74 minutes on the pitch, while Tim Cahill covered the most ground with 6.12 miles

Stracqualursi’s goal was his first in the Barclays Premier League this season, having previously has 12 shots at goal with 8 on target in his 496 minutes on the pitch, averaging a shot every 3 minutes 50 secs

Leighton Baines has now delivered 79 crosses so far this season, the third highest total in the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index and the highest for a full back

Stoke ended their run of four Premier League defeats last week against Swansea. They’ll now be looking to kick on against a pumped up Norwich side who have been grafting for wins, all season.

According to the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index, Norwich are the hardest working team in thePremier League this season. They travelled a combined total of 1,761 miles. Chelsea, who are second, have travelled a combined distance of 1,713 miles.

Eight of the Norwich’s regular players have all covered over 100 miles this season, more than any other team in the Premier League.

Peter Crouch has scored seven goals in his 22 appearances for Stoke this season. That gives Crouch an impressive conversion rate of 35%.

Jonathan Walters, has played in every one of Stokes 26 fixtures this season. According to the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index Walters has covered a total distance of 156.46 miles so far this season. Which is an average of 6.01 miles per game.

The EA SPORTS Player Performance Index states that Wesley Hoolahan has completed the most passes in the opposition half for Norwich, with a total of 484 completed passes.

The EA SPORTS Player Performance Index shows Holt has had 25 shots on target and scored 10 goals, which gives him a success rate 40% this season.

 West Brom v Chelsea Sat 3 Mar 15:00 

Predicton: 2-1

West Brom put breathing space between themselves and the relegation zone with a stunning 4-0 victory over Sunderland in their last Barclays Premier League fixture

Peter Odemwingie netted twice, while James Morrison and Keith Andrews also scored as West Brom delivered back to back four goal victories

Odemwingie now has nine Barclays Premier League goals to his name this season, and five in his last two games, coming from 47 shots at goal with 62% on target

It was new signing Keith Andrews who covered the most ground for West Brom with 6.37 miles

West Brom are fighting their way out of trouble this season, and have covered 1705 miles as a team so far, the fourth highest team total in the EA SPORTSPlayer Performance Index

Chelsea beat Bolton 3-0 in their last Barclays Premier League game with goals from three of the club’s more debated players: Didier Drogba, David Luiz, and Frank Lampard

Lampard has now scored ten goals in nine consecutive Premier League seasons, the first player in Premier League history to do so

Lampard’s ten goals have come from just 39 shots at goal with an incredible 77% on target, the highest percentage of shots on target for players who have had twenty or more shots at goal

Juan Mata covered the most ground for Chelsea in that game with 6.37 miles, the 8th time this season he has run further than his team mates

Overall, Chelsea are the second highest team in the league for overall distance covered with 1713 miles, behind only Norwich who have covered a cumulative total of 1761 miles

Chelsea and England left back Ashley Cole is 6th in the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index for overall distance covered with 151.5 miles covered

Cole also has six assists to his name, joint with Micah Richard’s as the highest by a defender in the Barclays Premier League this season

Gary Cahill scored a striker’s goal for England in midweek. Cahill has scored twice this season from 17 shots at goal with 82% on target – that’s the highest percentage of shots on target in the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index for players who have had ten or more shots at goal

 Wigan v Swansea Sat 3 Mar 15:00 

Prediction: 1-2

Wigan will be looking to improve on their draw last weekend against Aston Villa.

Swansea have struggled away from home this season will be looking to prove their doubters wrong and claim all three points.

Maynor Figueroa is only one of three Wigan players to have played all of Wigan’s 26 matches this season. Figueroa has covered the most distance in the Wigan side, with a total of 143.5 miles.

Gary Caldwell has attempted 54 tackles this season and has won 39, which gives him a 72% success rate for tackles completed. Only Mohamed Diame has won more tackles in the Villa squad, with 61, giving him a success rate of 83%.

According to the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index, Neil Taylor has been Swansea’s top tackler this season, he’s won 58 of the 72 tackles he’s attempted, which gives him a success rate of 80%.

Ashley Williams has covered 143.5 miles so far this season, more than any other player in the Swansea side. He’s averaged 5.5 miles per game, so far this season.

Ashley William and Scott Sinclair have been the marathon men for Swansea this season. They’re the only players this season to have appeared in all 26 of Swansea’s matches.

The EA SPORTS Player Performance Index states Wigan have covered 1,575 miles in total this season. Swansea just edge past Wigan, who have covered 1,632 miles in total.

Neil Taylor won the most tackles last weekend against Stoke. Taylor had a 100% success rate, winning all of his seven tackles against Stoke.
