The Tottenham fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are brimming with confidence this weekend after enjoying a cracking start to the season.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side look like they could seriously challenge for the Champions League qualification places this season but the former Southampton manager is not resting on his laurels just yet.
As according to talkSPORT, he is still trying to strengthen the North London outfit after agreeing a surprise £4.7 million deal for Benjamin Stambouli.
The Montpellier midfielder was catching the attentions of Fiorentina and Swansea City this summer, however Tottenham seem to have stolen a march on the duo.
Stambouli will arrive in London over the weekend to undergo a medical and finalise a contract.
Pochettino’s move for the 24-year-old would suggest that he has given up on being reunited with former midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin.
He was hoping that the pair would be reunited having worked together at Southampton but Ronald Koeman refused to sell another one of the Saints’ stars having lost a host of players earlier in the season.
