The Liverpool born defender has had a meteoric rise in stature since his humble beginnings at Walsall, where he was loaned out to Blue Square Northern side Redditch United and was widely expected to be released from his Saddlers contract.
Dann, 23, has been the subject of much interest from Liverpool’s great rivals Manchester United and reports had made the Red Devils favourites to sign the much coveted stopper.
He has periodically been linked with an International call up for Fabio Capello’s England senior side. He has thus far remained uncapped but, after some sterling performances at the heart of defence for Birmingham alongside Roger Johnson an International calling can’t be far off.
There has been no value set for the youngster, who has came into the Premiership via Coventry City where the then manager Chris Coleman didn’t think the youngster was equipped for Premier League action.
Dann a former season ticket holder at Liverpool would no doubt favour a move to his boyhood club over David Moyes’ Toffees.
Birmingham though are reluctant to lose there star defender with Alex McLeish going public with his stance to keep Dann, it would have to be a spectacular bid for Dann to return home to the North.
