Scouting the ‘new Pirlo’ shows that Sarri wants to build dynasty at Chelsea

Since joining Chelsea, Maurizio Sarri has completely transformed the club’s style of play. Under fellow Italian Antonio Conte, Chelsea were a solid team that played with five at the back but now they’ve taken to ‘Sarriball’ and become one of the most entertaining sides in the country.

The former Napoli manager brought with him his midfield general and Jorginho and so far the Italy international has been a pass master. Everything goes through him and without him, Chelsea are a much different side.

According to The Sun, Chelsea are already looking for a long-term replacement for the former Napoli man and are apparently scouting, Sandro Tonali who’s been labelled the ‘new Andrea Pirlo‘.

The Breakdown

According to the report, Sarri is ready to pay £20 million for the deep-lying playmaker who has been impressing in Serie B with Brescia. The 18-year-old has been likened to Pirlo, not just for his hairstyle but also for his ability to pass from deep and make quick decisions with the ball. Without the ball, the young midfielder is also great at pressing and definitely has the ability to read the game defensively.

At the moment, it looks far too early for Chelsea to make a move for him despite the obvious talent that he has. However, what this does represent is that Sarri is already looking to the future at the club.

Regardless of where Chelsea come this season, one thing is for sure is that the club have a quality manager.
