Ronald Koeman has shown that he is willing to give youth a chance and the Everton fans here in the Transfer Tavern have been right behind the Dutchman’s ideas this season.
The likes of Mason Holgate, Tom Davies and Dominic Calvert-Lewin have benefited from Koeman’s approach and the January signing of Ademola Lookman from Charlton has shown that the Toffees boss isn’t scared to dip into the market for youth.
Whilst our landlord has applauded the approach taken by Everton, he fears that a seventh place finish won’t be enough to keep the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley at the club and reinvestment may be required to maintain the quality in the blue half of Merseyside.
This may mean that Koeman looks to bring youth into the club and he may look no further than the recently promoted, Newcastle, for talent. The Magpies have a lot of talented youngsters at the club and the Toon Army that is gathered in the Tavern know just how good some of their under eighteen squad members are and are reluctant to see them join the Toffees.
A move to play under Koeman is a great offer for any youngster and our landlord has been studying the Newcastle youngsters and identifying who should make the move to Goodison Park.
Here are two wonderkids he thinks Everton should steal from Newcastle…
