The Manchester Cty fans in the Transfer Tavern are delighted to see a story in The Telegraph that claims Leicester City have renewed their interest in the £15 million-rated Patrick Roberts and that the winger could be used as a bargaining piece in a move for Riyad Mahrez. It’s understood that Guardiola rates Roberts but will let him go if it means bringing Mahrez through the door.

Manchester City have been linked with Riyad Mahrez for what seems like an eternity, although it could all be wrapped up in the coming days if the club is willing to let their young winger, Roberts, leave in the other direction. It wouldn’t be a huge loss for the club if Roberts was to depart as the youngster has spent a lot of time at Celtic over the last couple of the seasons and he’s been a huge hit under Brendan Rodgers.
At the age of just 21, the English winger could in danger of having his development stunted by not playing regular first-team football. The move to Leicester in the exchange for Mahrez could be a very promising one for both the Foxes and Roberts. At such a young age there’s nothing better for the Manchester City man than to be out on the grass playing football and he’ll no doubt be a big hit with his wing play and creativity at the King Power.

The lad has talent, but has hugely failed to build on it. On the rare occasions he gets a game for Celtic, he tends to hang around away from the action, hoping to pop into the game to do a little trick. Needs to do a 180 degree change in approach. Take him and try your best…
