Even our landlord inside the Football Transfer Tavern is scratching his head at this one as according to The Mirror, Fabian Delph has been trying to ask new Aston Villa signing Micah Richards about what life is like at Manchester City.
Some of you may remember a while back when Villa sacked Patrick Berger for urging Gareth Barry to sign for Liverpool and it appears that Richards is treading carefully to avoid the same fate.
The article does state that Richards would never advise Delph not to join the Citizens but at the same did admit that Delph would more than likely put his England place at risk if he did make the switch up north.
Richards only recently joined Villa after falling massively out of favour with them and he may want to be careful not to become instantly unpopular at Villa Park by suggesting their star player could move away!
If Delph did end up joining Manchester City this summer, he would probably end up becoming the second big name English arrival with a swoop for Liverpool’s Raheem Sterling surely days away now according to punters by the bar.
