Second Time Lucky On Medical…

Tottenham have completed the signing of Spartak Moscow goalkeeper Stipe Pletikosa on a season long loan.

The 31 year old has been on trial at the club for a large portion of the summer and has seemingly impressed enough for manager Harry Redknapp to make a move for the player who will provide competition for Heurelho Gomes and Carlo Cudicini.

The Croatian goalkeeper, who has made 80 appearances for his country, has been linked with a move to North London for a number of months, having had a potential deal fall through last January after the player failed a medical, suffering a serious knee injury in what was supposed to be his final training session before moving to White Hart Lane.

His current side Spartak Moscow have confirmed the loan deal has been completed at their end, stating that the players deal has been completed, with the Premier League club having the option to possibly sign the player in a £1.6 million move, should the loan move prove to be successful.

Pletikosa could make his Premier League debut against West Brom, once the international break has been completed, as current first choice keeper Gomes is currently struggling with a groin injury.
