‘Seems too good to be true’ – Tottenham fans on Twitter react to promising transfer rumour

The Spurs fans in the Transfer Tavern have been getting excited this morning after reading a story in The Mirror that claims Mauricio Pochettino has added a Portuguese trio of Gelson Martins, Cedric Soares and Ruben Neves to his summer wishlist. Spurs are also reportedly targeting other names such as Wilfried Zaha, Malcom and Matthijs De Ligt in the coming window.

Tottenham have long been targetting another winger. Pochettino flashed the cash in January to ensure the signing of Lucas Moura and now the Argentine is apparently looking for someone on the opposite flank, explaining the interest in Sporting’s Gelson Martins, who can play on either side. Meanwhile, Cedric and Neves could be brought in to replace Serge Aurier and Mousa Dembele. Aurier has struggled since his big-money move to London last summer and Spurs are uncertain over Dembele’s future with contract talks on hold.

The Lilywhites have suffered another trophyless this season this campaign, although they look set to go on and secure a third straight season of playing in the Champions League with a top-four finish. The Spurs fans propping our bar up would love to see some more dynamic players coming into their squad and with the Portuguese trio potentially on their way, this summer could spell good times for Tottenham Hotspur.

Taking that into account here’s the responses of our local Spurs fans:
