‘Sell him’, ‘Not good enough’ – Chelsea fans slam 28-year-old after latest club post

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern aren’t too happy today. It’s been a tough few weeks, and it got worse against Man City last night. The Blues were beaten by the Citizens 1-0, with Antonio Conte’s men seriously struggling.

In truth, nobody looked particularly good against the Citizens. From defence, through to midfield and into the attack – it’s hard to say who was Chelsea’s best player.

One thing is certain, though: it wasn’t Danny Drinkwater.

The Englishman was given a rare start in the absence of N’Golo Kante, and it’s fair to say that he struggled. Lacking the defensive determination of his French counterpart, fans will be hoping that Kante is back sooner, rather than later.

Unsurprisingly, then, the reaction hasn’t been too kind to Drinkwater today, despite the fact that it’s his birthday. Chelsea posted over on their official Twitter page in celebration of the day, and whilst some fans responded kindly, most have been absolutely ruthless.

Several fans have demanded his sale, and nobody is being too complimentary. Indeed, it appears as though the Englishman will have a lot of work to do to get the Chelsea faithful back on side.

Take a look at what they’ve had to say below…
