‘Sell Morata’ – Chelsea fans react to Harry Kane’s Tottenham performance on Twitter

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are looking forward to their highly-anticipated Champions League tie against Barcelona next week. 

Antonio Conte’s side have been struggling for form in the Premier League of late as tensions between the Italian and Chelsea’s hierarchy continue to provide an unnecessary distraction on the field of play. However, Chelsea recorded a morale boosting 3-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion last time out to ease the tension surrounding the club. The Blues will have to wait until next week to play in the Champions League, but in the meantime the supporters were interested spectators in Tottenham’s clash with Juventus last night.

Chelsea’s local-rivals valiantly fought back from 2 goals down against the Serie A giants to score 2 away goals and claim a huge 2-2 draw in their first-leg tie. Tottenham’s goals arrived courtesy of Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen, and the composure demonstrated by Kane to drag Spurs back into the game certainly impressed the Chelsea fans on Twitter.

In the aftermath of proceedings, the Blues faithful took to Twitter to praise the England international and compare him to their Spanish striker Alvaro Morata. The supporters stated that Morata would have failed to find the net had he found himself in Kane’s situation, and they used Tottenham’s opener to draw lines of distinction between the quality of the aforementioned players.
