‘Sell’, ‘Shouldn’t get a look in’ – Liverpool fans on Twitter not convinced by star’s comments

The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to their 30-year-old midfielder, Adam Lallana’s comments as he claims to be “desperate” to be involved in Liverpool’s last two games after an injury-hit season. The ex-Southampton man has made just 13 appearances for the Reds this season but he’s hopeful of being involved against Brighton and Real Madrid. The Kopites propping our bar up have been reacting to Lallana’s comments, with the player dividing opinion amongst the fans. Adam Lallana signed for Liverpool from Southampton back in summer 2014 and since then he’s been trying to stake his claim as the club’s number one attacking midfielder, although with Philippe Coutinho holding that role down until untimely Barcelona exit this January and a host of injury problems, the 30-year-old has found his game time limited at Anfield.

A lot of fans have been calling for his sale, believing that Lallana’s wages and transfer fee could be put towards improving the squad in other areas, seeing as their midfield is already one of the best in the Premier League. The only area of Jurgen Klopp’s side that needs improving is in the defensive third. That being said, the club’s backline has tightened up significantly over the last few months, with Loris Karius, Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson being some of the key performers in the change in Liverpool’s defensive fortunes.
