‘Selling FC’, ‘Worst window ever’ – West Ham fans slate club following deadline day departure

West Ham fans have been reasonably satisfied in the Transfer Tavern in the last few days after seeing their side draw 1-1 with Crystal Palace on Tuesday night, thus extending their unbeaten Premier League run to six matches.

David Moyes’ men went into their clash with the Eagles having won two and drawn three of their preceding five league games, a run of form which put some distance between themselves and the division’s bottom three. And the Hammers moved another point closer to safety on Tuesday night, although had to come from behind as Christian Benteke gave Roy Hodgson’s side the lead midway through the first half, only for Mark Noble to equalise from the penalty spot just before the break to clinch a point for the East London outfit.

Subsequently, there have been many satisfied Hammers in the Tavern in recent times, several of whom are looking ahead to Saturday’s trip to fellow strugglers Brighton as their side go in search of just their third away Premier League win of the season.

In the meantime though, there has been plenty of news for our resident West Ham fans to discuss, not least the deadline day deal which has seen Andre Ayew leave the London Stadium to rejoin Swansea City.

The 28-year-old only made the move to East London back in 2016 and went on to score 12 goals in just 50 games for the club, with it fair to say that he didn’t quite hit the heights for the Hammers in the same way he did for the Swans between 2015 and 2016.

And the Ghana international has officially re-signed for Carlos Carvalhal’s side, much to the anger of several West Ham fans on Twitter…
